prepare to fail ...to get it right!

break out from your shell of comfort
an integral part of learning to ride is learning to fall!
to make something really great you have to fail!

The trick is to prepare, mitigate the risks and quickly stand up again when knocked down!

Let the numbers speak!

Since 2007, more than 22,300 professionals in 59 countries have passed the CPRE Foundation Level examination.
Based on these figures, the CPRE certificate can rightly be regarded as the leading certificate in Requirements Engineering!

In September we have exceeded 22,000 certifications in the Foundation Level!
In total 29,458 exams
and 22,391 certified CPRE-FL
in 59 countries.

The passage rate is at 75.9%.
The rather weak start of the year was due to low request for training in Europe for all kinds of certifications

Q4 started very well for IREB
Below is the overall evolution of the CPRE FL exams per year since 2007. 2015 January - September

Requirements work feels sometimes as an obstacle course

...and sometimes the certification itself feels almost impossible!

we will offer certification prep-sessions
for those who did not get on the right side of 60% the first time ...

the plan is to reserve the Monday afternoon (13-17:30)
before every planned IREB course
Then you can do the exam the Monday the week after!

• Elicitation and Consolidation
• Requirements Modeling

• Requirements Management

call for papers! - MODEL-DRIVEN REQUIREMENTS ENGINEERING (MoDRE) WORKSHOP AT RE 2015

MODEL-DRIVEN REQUIREMENTS ENGINEERING (MoDRE) WORKSHOP AT RE 2015
Co-located with the 23nd IEEE International Requirements Engineering
Conference in Ottawa, Canada, August 24, 2015

   http://www.modre2015.ece.mcgill.ca/

The Fifth International Model-Driven Requirements Engineering (MoDRE)
workshop continues to provide a forum to discuss the challenges of
Model-Driven Development (MDD) for Requirements Engineering (RE). Building
on the success of MDD for design and implementation, RE may benefit from
MDD techniques when properly balancing flexibility for capturing varied
user needs with formal rigidity required for model transformations as well
as high-level abstraction with information richness. MoDRE seeks to explore
those areas of requirements engineering that have not yet been formalized
sufficiently to be incorporated into a model-driven development
environment. Reuse of requirements models and management of requirements at
runtime become distinct possibilities with MDD and model transformations.
This workshop intends to identify new challenges, discuss on-going work and
potential solutions, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of MDD approaches
for RE, foster stimulating discussions on the topic, and provide
opportunities to apply MDD approaches for RE.

Accepted papers will become part of the workshop proceedings and will be
submitted for inclusion into the IEEE Digital Library.

IMPORTANT DATES (all deadlines 23:59:59, Baker Island time)
Tuesday, June 2, 2015: Deadline for abstract submission
Tuesday, June 9, 2015: Deadline for paper submission
Tuesday, June 30, 2015: Notification sent to authors
Wednesday, July 15, 2015: Deadline for submission of camera-ready paper
Monday, August 17, 2015: Deadline for submission of workshop presentation
Monday, August 24, 2015: Workshop

about awesomeness :-)

I have said it before...part of beeing successful in RE and BA is the be PROUD and CONFIDENT of the methods applied and the work beeing done...

It is NOT the same thing as always doing the right thing.

But we are confident and proud of our knowledge base AND we have an open mind with thousands of virtual eyes and ears to enhance the feedback loop and "make things work!"

... so the two posters below are true, I am sure you all agree :-)

I have always liked the Wunderlist team...and their blog is an interesting read!

here is one article to look at: https://www.wunderlist.com/blog/silence-vs-communication/

AS I often state, you can try to be "agile" but it is even better that you use COMMON SENSE and use what works for you!
